newNew Diversity, Opportunity, and Inclusion(DOI) Plan

Unveiled during the 2023 DHRM Annual Conference, we are pleased to provide the new Diversity, Opportunity, and Inclusion (DOI) Plan for the State workforce. The Plan is designed to provide simple, yet meaningful guidance for agencies to incorporate into their own internal plans with actionable items that promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, and ensure opportunities are available to everyone. The deadline to provide your agency annual DOI report has been moved to March 31, 2024, to ensure agencies have sufficient time to prepare the report. A DOI year-end template is provided here.

We appreciate everyone’s efforts to ensure our employees and citizens feel respected and appreciated.

Updated EEO Poster for Executive Branch Agencies

The Office of Workforce Engagement’s D&I team has created new Equal Employment Opportunity Posters to reflect our state EEO Complaint Process. The new posters are intended to further educate employees on EEO protected categories and covered employment practices, as well as inform them of their EEO rights. State employees can also learn more about the resources and services available to them through our Office.

Agencies should remind employees and managers that employment discrimination is illegal and remind them of all relevant state and federal laws that prohibit employment discrimination. Executive Branch Agencies are expected to print, share and display these posters throughout their workplaces where they can be accessed and viewed by employees and/or applicants. Here is a link to the poster file. OWE will display posters throughout the James Monroe Building.

D&I Training Opportunities

Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace requires a committed organizational effort. Training may be essential to engage employees in this effort. The Office of Workforce Engagement’s D&I team provides ad hoc training for all state agencies. Please fill out this form to request and further discuss your D&I training needs.
