Workers' Compensation
Disability Management Program
The Governor's Executive
Order 94 (05) Workplace Safety and Health, requires that
every agency "develop a return-to-work/modified duty policy for
injured employees, with the flexibility to take into account
the injured employee's special circumstances, using transitional
or light duty assignments when appropriate." The Statewide
Return-to-Work Coordinator can assist agencies and employees with
this initiative by providing the following services:
- Conduct an evaluation of your current disability management
system.
- Perform a needs assessment before you develop your program.
- Provide direct training to your employees on how to develop
and implement a return-to-work program.
- Participate in planning or attend committee meetings · Review
draft return-to-work policies.
- Research assistive technology that might allow an employee to
return to work with a job modification.
- Provide any further technical assistance that would enable an
employee to return to work in a safe, healthy and timely manner.
