Checklist

To participate in the Virginia State Employee Loan Program, all of the following are REQUIRED. You must check all checkboxes.
   
I am a full-time state employee who has been employed by the Commonwealth for at least 12 months.
I have completed the required financial education course and scored at least 8 out of 10 correct answers.

If not, DO NOT PROCEED without completing this requirement, click here to complete the BalanceTrack® financial fitness course. (Funds will not be released if this requirement is not properly completed.)
I know my Virginia State Employee ID number.

(Hint: This is the state PMIS number and can be found on your paystub, your health insurance benefits card or located from your HR office).
I am a member of The Virginia Credit Union (VACU), and I know my member number.

(Hint:Your VACU member number is located at the top of your VACU periodic statement. If you don’t know your member number, you will be given the option to select SSN and enter your Social Security Number instead.  If you are not a member of The Virginia Credit Union, you will need to join before proceeding.Click here to learn how to join VACU.
I have a VACU checking or savings account to receive the loan funds and the direct deposit for my loan payments. (Hint: You will need to know the number of this account for the application. That appears on your VACU periodic statement.) If you are a VACU member but you don’t have a checking or savings account, you will need to open an account before proceeding.
I know how often I am paid (only employees paid monthly or semi-monthly are eligible during the pilot phase of this loan program.)
I am working from a computer with a printer and Adobe PDF reader. If not, log onto another computer and continue the process starting at step 2.
I recognize that I can only receive one loan at a time and a maximum of two loans per calendar year.
I agree to repay the Virginia State Employee Loan through direct deposit to VACU.
If approved, I recognize funds will not be released until I sign and submit the direct deposit form and return it to my payroll officer.
I understand if my account has insufficient funds for repayment, the entire remaining loan balance may be deducted from my next paycheck.
