There will be two levels of certification:
Executive level courses, programs and curriculum are identified, but no official Commonwealth certification will be provided for executive and management level HR professionals.
Each certification will require completion of a core and electives group of courses, as well as the curriculum unique to that specific certification. These requirements can be found by clicking onto the blocks for CoV Specialist and CoV Generalist Certifications.
Each certification level will consist of a specified number of hours of training/education, work experience, or combination thereof unique to the area of certification. Curriculum requirements will be based on a Human Resource Competency Model developed by our HRI Committee. These encompass both technical and behavioral competencies.
Executive Development within Human Resources is a matter of personal goals and objectives. Therefore, the Human Resource Institute does not provide a certification path for managers or executives, but has put together a listing of possible courses and programs that will enhance individual knowledge, skills and abilities at the manager and executive levels. This listing appears below and is meant to be a guide, not an all-inclusive listing. There are far too many such programs and courses within the Commonwealth and nationwide to list all of them.
