MS Office 2007 Document Support
PeopleAdmin now supports uploading of Office 2007 documents by users and applicants.
Prior to recent system maintenance, users and applicants attempting to upload a document created with Microsoft Office 2007 experienced an error message stating that the file type was unsupported.
Office 2007 documents are created with different file extensions – whereas a typical Microsoft Word document ends in “.doc”, for example, documents created with Microsoft Word 2007 end in “.docx”.
PeopleAdmin has completed a reconfiguration of the document conversion servers, and as of now the following are the available file types that can be uploaded into the system:
Hiring Multiple Candidates from One Job Posting
The RMS allows for filling multiple positions from a single job posting. However, only the position number listed on the requisition will be tracked by the system. For the hired candidates, change the applicant status to “Hired” put the hire date and the position number the candidate is being hired for in the notes box. The position number in the notes box is NOT tracked by the system.
Continuous and Multiple Hire Recruitments Feature (Status Update)
A “pooling” feature which will allow for copying applicants to continuous and multiple hire recruitments has moved to the final stage of implementation process. Selected state agencies received a demonstration of the new feature on November 15, 2007. The implementation date is tentatively set for 2008. Instructions for using the new feature will be sent to HR Directors and posted on the RMS Updates.
Attach Documents
If the option for “documents must be attached” is selected, this must be stated in the job announcement that the documents are required. If documents are required applicants cannot complete the application process without attaching the documents. The “documents can be attached” is the default option. However, if both the “must be” and “can be” selections are chosen, the “must be attached” will override the “can be” selection.
