Can anyone submit a nomination for a Governor’s Award?
State agencies nominate employees for the Governorís Awards. Nomination forms and instructions are sent to all agency heads with criteria and the submission process. Each agency’s process for determining nominees may be different. Many agencies allow employees to nominate their colleagues for agency awards that may be eligible for consideration as a Governor’s Award nominee.

Who selects the Governor’s Award recipients?
Recipients are selected as the result of a two-tiered judging process by the Governorís Awards Committee, which consists of some members of the Governorís Cabinet and agency heads.
Will there be a special ceremony to honor award recipients?
The Governor’s Awards ceremony will be held at the Executive Mansion on September 4, 2014.
Can others participate in the ceremony?
Employees may sign up to participate as Ambassadors at the awards ceremony.
What is the Ambassadors Program?
Ambassadors are state employees who submit an application and are selected at random from seven regions of the Commonwealth. The Ambassadors represent the state employee workforce as a whole. Persons who are selected as Ambassadors attend the Governor’s Awards program and luncheon. Attendance as an Ambassador is dependent upon supervisor and HR approval.
