Career Guide Project Completed
DHRM has completed the Career Guide project, a key component of the Commonwealth's Career Development Program. 278 occupational Career Guides are now available for current and prospective employees.
Career Guides provide information on occupations, career paths, and what an individual may personally need to do to develop, advance, or even change their career. We hope you will encourage your employees to use the Guides and other Career Center resources available on DHRM's new Virginia Jobs Web Site.
DHRM is in the process of converting all Guides from PDF to HTML format to improve access. The Guides will be updated periodically to ensure that the content is current.
Recruitment Management System Imminent
Eight proposals were submitted in response to DHRM's June 2005 Request For Proposal (RFP) for a statewide Recruitment Management System (RMS). Two vendors were invited to demonstrate their products to potential customers, including staff from the Virginia Departments of Transportation and Taxation. DHRM is in the final review process and anticipates a warding the contract by the end of October. Implementation is projected to begin immediately thereafter.
