Virginia Values Veterans (V3)
GetCertifiedV3  HB1641 passed the House of Delegates and the Senate unanimously, and was signed into law by Governor McAuliffe on March 17, 2015. It states: “All agencies in the executive branch of state government and all public institutions of higher education shall, to the maximum extent possible, be certified in accordance with this section." The process for state agencies to meet the requirements of this legislation can be found here on the V3 website.

Sample DD214 The Virginia Hilton HHonors Military Rewards Program
This program provides active duty, Veterans, Transitioning Service members (TSMs), National Guardsman or Reservist and spouses of Active duty or Veterans the ability to stay for free at Hilton Hotels when actively seeking employment (including travel for interviews). HR staff can fill out the required form and send it to Paul Daniels at the VEC or they can put the Veteran/individual directly in touch with either of them. The VEC will need to contact the Veterans and verify information regardless, so it may be more efficient to have the individual contact Charlie or Paul directly when completing the form.

Please note that individuals must first register in the Virginia Workforce Connection, and the Hilton Honors program before submitting the form. The VEC will only approve people traveling over 50 miles, to ensure that the stay is related to a job search. The turnaround time for approval is approximately one week, as the VEC is still working with Hilton to set up best practices. Individual should plan their trips a couple of weeks out.
